Dear Trick or Treat-ers,

Dear Trick or Treat-ers,

Happy Halloween!

How is it already October? Time is the universe’s greatest trick; moving forwards in a standstill motion, same scenery different person. The lightest way to describe it, I guess, would be to call it a “time warp”. It feels like the world is full of tricks these days with seldom treats to be found. But we know they’re there, we just can't give up on looking for them like a little treasure hunt. All this to say, it’s never been more important to keep the spirit of your inner child alive!

It wasn’t a thing to go Trick or Treating where I grew up. But we did have a group of kids in the neighborhood come by for a couple of years. I remember thinking that getting Trick or Treat-ers was just as fun as being the kids Trick or Treating. We get to pass out joy in the form of candy, dress up too if we wanted, and be a part of each other’s fun little Halloween memory. Truly magical if you think deep enough about it!

So this Halloween, I hope you get nothing but tasteful tricks and tasty treats. With everything that’s going on, it’s hard to wake up each day with a positive mindset. But if we can find anchor in a glimpse of positivity to help us back to our innate love and joy, we’ll be all right. We’ll find our way back. That glimpse can come in the form of candy, a Halloween tradition, a morning coffee, texts to a friend, a mirror pep talk, a journal entry or what have you – so long as it’s for you and your joy to treasure.

Happy Halloween!

Sincerely,

A sign off reading "K From the Mountain" written in black cursive font
